What is Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is an arrangement and supported by a legal agreement, whereby a surrogate mother agrees to become pregnant and give birth to a baby for another person who will become the parents of the new-born baby. The surrogacy is a great opportunity for people who can-not have children naturally, without going through a long and difficult adoption procedures.
Before the Treatment
Surrogacy general criteria is to be in good mental and physical health condition, previously carried and delivered at least one child, be less than 40 years old, no smoke and abuse alcohol. Surrogate Mother candidate should have a desire to become a surrogate mother. The intended mother or egg donor will be given medication to help her develop eggs and will undergo an egg retrieval process. A candidate mother should pass certain medical tests included blood tests, blood coagulation tests, urine analyses, Pap smear, fluorography, and also Psychological Examination. The eggs are fertilised in laboratory to create an embryo and which will be transferred to the surrogate.
During Treatment
After nine months of pregnancy when the baby is born, surrogate mother passes it to the family of officially genetic parents. She legally approves that she has no right and refuses any parental connection; intended family will join the surrogate at the clinic. After the baby is born and surrogate is discharged from clinic, the new parents can return home safely with baby.
